Important Update regarding the PACT Act
Due to the passing of the PACT Act, this specific presumptive category is effectively defunct.
This is because the PACT Act has made qualifying service in Afghanistan now fall under the Gulf War presumptives (which is a far better deal for Veterans!).
What This Means for You
- Afghanistan veterans now qualify under the expanded Gulf War presumptive rules
- This includes service from August 2, 1990, to present
- More conditions are covered under Gulf War presumptives
- The Gulf War category also covers burn pit exposure under PACT Act
